What is CHP?

Colorado Health Partnerships (CHP) is a partnership between eight Community Mental Health Centers and ValueOptions®, the nation’s largest independent behavioral health and wellness company. The eight community mental health centers serve more than 160,000 Medicaid members in 43 Colorado counties.

If you are enrolled in the Colorado Medicaid program and live in one of the counties CHP serves, you are an eligible member of Colorado Health Partnerships.

We have created Your CHP to help you use your Medicaid mental health benefits. This web site has tools, information and links to help people use their Medicaid benefits and learn more about recovery.

CHP and our partner mental health centers offer services that are based on the principles of recovery and resilience.

What is Recovery?
Recovery refers to the process in which people are able to live, work, learn and participate fully in their communities. For some individuals, recovery is the ability to live a fulfilling and productive life despite a disability. For others, recovery implies the reduction or complete remission of symptoms. Science has shown that having hope plays an integral role in an individual's recovery.

- President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health, 2003.

What is Resilience?
Children today are exposed to many influences that can affect their healthy development. Yet many children overcome these problems and grow to be healthy and successful. Resilience is the ability of the child and the family to overcome obstacles and grow and prosper. CHP and our partner mental health centers offer programs for children and families that promote resilience.
